Jon Rhoades
Jon works with leaders to help make them, their teams, and their organizations more adaptive, more resilient, and more effective. He has over 15 years of consulting experience advising executives on how to manage the human side of organizational change. He has worked with top executives across a range of industries to design and implement organization change efforts, improve executive team performance, develop leaders, and improve business performance.
Some of Jon’s recent work includes:
- The use of customized surveys and rigorous interview analyses to uncover and help resolve long-standing issues in organization and governance that were hindering the performance of a large insurance company
- The redesign of the top management structure of a global banking business to accommodate major regulatory and market changes resulting from the global financial crisis
- The development and implementation of a multi-year plan to identify and prepare a successor for a well-respected CEO of a manufacturing business
- The implementation of a new organizational model, including a full spans and layers review, for a global technology business that needed to right-size its management and cost structure to address changes in customer mix and review sources
- The development of new team roles and dynamics for an executive team of a business services organization that was struggling to adapt to new business demands and a change in leadership requirements
Prior to joining Passages Consulting, Jon was a Partner and member of the U.S. leadership team at Oliver Wyman Delta, a firm founded by David Nadler over 30 years ago to provide organizational change and leadership effectiveness consulting to CEOs and other top executives. In this role he helped to build the company’s brand and capabilities, grow its footprint, build its client list, and expand its intellectual capital and offerings.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman Delta (then Mercer Delta), Jon was a member of the faculty at New York University in the Industrial/ Organizational Psychology Program. In this position, he planned, carried out, presented, and published numerous studies of organizational behavior, and also consulted to companies on organization effectiveness issues.
Jon holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Dayton, with minors in German and Philosophy and extensive training in Human Factors (Mechanical) Engineering. He received both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
